The World Ultra Cycling Association (WUCA) was founded in 1980 by John Marino, Michael Shermer, and Lon Haldeman.

The World Ultra Cycling Association is the leading international organization dedicated to ultracycling. We offer a calendar of ultracycling events where riders can compete in the World Cup of UltraCycling, the Ultra Cup of UltraCycling or accumulate mileage toward the WUCA 6-, 12- and 24-hour challenges, or try to ride fastest in the 500 mile series.

The Year Rounder

The World Ultra Cycling Association offers the Year Rounder Mileage Challenge, which is a year-long bicycle mileage challenge that recognizes consistent performance in ultracycling throughout the season. The organization also sanctions UltraCycling Records, including national, state, timed and distance records. The World Ultra Cycling Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and welcomes donations and sponsorships to help fund our charitable programs.

Each year, the World Ultra Cycling Association offers a women’s scholarship, in honor of Anne Marie McSweeney, to attend PAC-Tour Arizona Camp.

The World Ultra Cycling Association publishes UltraCycling, a quarterly magazine.

All of the World Ultra Cycling Association offerings are supported by a team of Volunteers and an active Board of Directors and Officers.
